Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information from and about you when you visit our website, create an account with us, or otherwise interact with us. This policy explains more about how we use cookies and similar technologies and the choices available to you.

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to remember things about you, provide and secure our services, understand how our website is used and, where you consent, support advertising.

We use strictly necessary cookies without consent. We also use certain analytics cookies for statistical purposes to understand and improve how our website is used. You can object to these at any time. Where consent is required, including for advertising and marketing cookies, we ask for it before using them.

What are cookies?

  • Cookies are small data files stored on your browser or device. They may be served by Eequ (“first-party cookies”) or by other organisations whose services we use (“third-party cookies”).

  • Pixels are small pieces of technology used on websites or in emails that can collect information about a browser or device and may work alongside cookies.

  • Local storage allows information to be stored locally on your browser or device and includes technologies such as HTML5 local storage.

How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for a number of purposes, including keeping our services secure, remembering your preferences, understanding how our website is used and, where you consent, supporting advertising.

The technologies we use generally fall into the following categories.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the operation and security of our website and services. They include, for example, technologies used to keep you logged in, support bookings and payments, protect our services and remember your cookie choices.

For login purposes, we may also store information that helps us remember how you last logged in and helps prevent you from accidentally creating a duplicate account.

Strictly necessary cookies cannot generally be switched off because the relevant parts of the service would not function correctly without them.

Functional cookies

These help provide additional functionality and remember preferences when you use our website.

You can control optional functional cookies through our cookie settings.

Analytical and performance cookies

We use analytics technologies to understand how people use Eequ and to improve our website and services.

This may include information such as:

  • the pages people visit;

  • how long people spend on different parts of the website;

  • how people reached our website;

  • interactions with pages;

  • browser, device and operating system information; and

  • general information about website performance and user journeys.

We use Google Analytics for this purpose.

Our Google Analytics configuration is used for statistical analysis of how Eequ is used and to help us improve the service. We do not use this analytics information for advertising, remarketing or profiling individual visitors.

Where our use of analytics falls within the statistical purposes exception under UK cookie law, consent is not required. However, you can object to the use of analytics cookies at any time by switching off Analytics in our cookie settings or selecting Reject all.

You can find more information about Google's privacy practices in Google's privacy information for its analytics services.

Marketing and social media cookies

We and our advertising partners may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to help us advertise Eequ and the activities available through our platform.

These technologies may be used to:

  • show advertising that is more relevant to people's interests;

  • measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns;

  • limit how often the same advertisement is shown; and

  • help advertising platforms identify audiences who may be interested in Eequ.

We may use services provided by organisations such as Google and Meta for these purposes.

Marketing and social media cookies are not used unless you consent to them through our cookie settings.

If you decline marketing cookies, we will not use these technologies to personalise or measure advertising in this way. You may still see advertisements from Eequ or other organisations elsewhere on the internet, but they may be less relevant to you.

Intercom

Our help chat service is provided by Intercom.

If you use the chatbot to contact us, we may provide a limited amount of information about your Eequ account, such as your sign-up date and email address, to Intercom so that we can provide support and communicate with you.

Intercom may use cookies and similar technologies to provide its services and help us understand and manage our interactions with users.

More information about Intercom's use of cookies and its privacy practices is available in Intercom's privacy information and terms.

If you prefer not to use the chatbot, you can contact us directly by email.

Managing your cookie choices

We use Consent Studio to manage cookie preferences on our website.

When you first visit Eequ, our cookie controls allow you to:

  • reject optional cookies;

  • choose individual categories of cookies; or

  • accept all cookies.

Marketing and social media cookies are switched off unless you choose to accept them.

You can review or change your choices at any time by selecting Cookies on our website. This includes switching off analytics cookies if you do not want them to be used.

Most browsers and devices also allow you to clear or block cookies through their settings. If you block all cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, some parts of Eequ may not work correctly.

You can also use the privacy and advertising settings provided by your browser, mobile device and relevant advertising platforms to control personalised advertising and tracking.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if the technologies we use or the law changes. The latest version will be published on our website.
