I want to add free tickets that are not funded by the council

Why are my non-council funded children being declined?

When you create a listing that is linked to a council and a specific council funded programme all children who book free tickets will be eligibility checked by the council.

Sometimes, you may wish to offer free places to children who fall outside the council's specific eligibility requirements. Perhaps you have another pot of funding.

Don't add another free ticket to the same listing.

Instead, here are some options for workarounds:

  1. Add a low cost paid ticket. This is convenient for parents as the ticket can be added to the same listing. You could even offer to refund the ticket price on attendance 💡

  2. Duplicate your listing and create a "Private Enterprise" listing.

Why do I need to connect my bank account in order to publish a free listing?

To keep our community safe, all providers are asked to connect a Stripe account before publishing a listing. Stripe carries out identity checks, which helps us safeguard against bad actors—especially important when activities involve children and young people.

We don’t manually review every listing, so this automated step is essential to maintaining trust across our platform.

Council-funded programmes

If you’re joining through a council-funded programme, your identity is verified by the council, so Stripe verification is not required at that stage. However, if you later use Eequ to offer private listings, you’ll need to complete the Stripe setup.

Government departments

If you’re a government department or similar body, please message our support team to request an exemption from the Stripe setup.

Thank you for helping us build a safe and trusted community.

Future developments

We're aware that many providers would like this to be made possible in the future as it is more convenient for parents. Please feedback to your council so they can consider this as a future enhancement to the platform.
