Important things to consider

You may have a family HAF activity and would like to ask that parents attend with their child.

Choosing whether to add an Adult Ticket:

You should avoid offering adult tickets unless you really need to count the adults.

Where possible, just allow parents to accompany their children. You can make this clear in the following ways:

The 'Summary' section on your Listing

The Block name

The 'Extra information' section of the ticket

If you must count the adults, please make sure you do the following:

Select 'children and adults together' for the age range

Go to MENU > Listings, enter the age range and switch on the age enforcement.

This will allow the children and the adults to attend the same session.

Select 'Accompanying Adult' for the Adult Ticket

When setting up the Adult ticket, please select 'Accompanying Adult'. This stops them from being asked 'child' eligibility questions.

What special properties do Adult HAF tickets have?

  1. People who select an Adult HAF ticket don't get asked children questions such as "Are you eligible?" or "'What school do you go to?'

  2. Adult HAF tickets are not counted in the DfE metrics.

  3. Adult HAF bookers don't get checked by the Council for eligibility. These attendees will go straight to you for approval.

Please note that your council will never eligibility check attendees aged 18 and above, unless they have set the adult threshold higher, for example to 'under 26'.

What should I do if an Adult books a child ticket?

Just decline the booking and ask them to book again, selecting the Adult ticket.

How do I indicate that Adults don't get a meal?

Try writing this in the ticket name, for example:

  • Adult, No Meal

How can I make sure that I don't over or under-book?

You probably don't know how many Adults are coming but have a strict limit on the number of funded child places. No problem - you can set a ticket limit on the child ticket and increase the overall group size. See our Ticket Limit article here.
